Advancing care to save lives affected by Advanced HIV Disease

REVIVE is a clinical trial dedicated to reducing mortality and improving care for people with Advanced HIV Disease (AHD).

AHD is a leading cause of death in sub-Saharan Africa and presents significant public health challenges. Severe bacterial infections, which often occur during the critical early period after starting antiretroviral therapy, are a major driver of mortality in people with AHD.

Through innovative research, the REVIVE trial aims to provide the evidence needed to support the use of azithromycin prophylaxis as part of routine HIV care. By tackling a critical cause of early mortality, we aim to save lives and deliver better outcomes for people living with AHD.
